Growing pumpkins got its start in 1988 while Tom was attending UW Madison and he began delivering to a couple independently owned grocery stores that year. As the years continued Tom kept growing and selling pumpkins. After getting married in 1992, Tracey began marketing our pumpkins and our business began to take off.
In 2000 we purchased 35 acres where we are currently located and expanded our pumpkin acres from 3 to 16 and added gourds into the mix. On top of the 35 acres that we own, we rent another 300 acres where we also plant field corn and soybeans. Little by little we added more acreage and have been at 25 acres for many years now.
We attended a Vegetable Growers Conference in 2002 and added squash to our mix and now sell just as much squash as pumpkins. Each conference we attend we meet someone new to share ideas and learn something new to help us improve our operation. This is also where we learned how to grow and sell our wide variety of specialty pumpkins which look amazing when decorated with our corn shocks and straw bales.
Our daughters Katherine and Kirstin have taken pride in our business. They work with us in the fields, on our stand and contribute to the success of our farm.
We would love to visit with you at our farm stand which is open from early September through Thanksgiving.
We are located at W939 Northey Rd, Sullivan, WI 53178 – Just 4 miles south of Sullivan and 6 miles north of Palmyra on Hwy E.
